Restore Old Photos

Did you ever want to make your old parent's photos with dust, scratches and etc. like new? Well, with this tutorial we'll show you how to renew your old photos..
Open a standard image "Old Image.jpg" from the "Samples" directory of Photoshop. It looks very old, but we'll correct it
We'll be using the Clone Stamp Tool (S), Spot Healing Brush (J), Patch Tool (J), Red Eye Tool (J) and etc.
Ok, take a Clone Stamp Tool (S) and hold down Alt key . Now click on the good area in the image and hold up Alt key. Now click in the old looking area in the image and place cursor around this area.
(Note: when selecting this tool, choose brush properties: Master Diameter: 10 px; Hardness: 0%.)
Ok, use the same tools to correct other old areas on the jacket of the man. The result of "new" jacket is below:
Well, for "restoring" of the face we can use the same Stamp but in this case we won't! Let's use Spot Healing Brush Tool (J) to do it! Choose it and use the properties that you see below: (Note: to make the second properties like in the image, click the right button anywhere).
Now just place mouse cursor somewhere in the face and hair.
Ok, now we must correct a background, but it's too slow with some of the tools we used before. We must use the Patch Tool (J) to correct it! Use properties listed below:
Ok, now select good area without any damage and when selected, move the selection somewhere in the damaged area - see the result and continue to do this in all other areas that wered damaged
I must note that this operation could be changed to creating of a pattern and using it in damaged areass - but this way is too long.
Ok, let's see what we have done for now!
Ok, I think that's all for now... No? Oh, yes! Do you see some noise on the image? Ok, we will reduce this by first selecting the background and the jacket, after it choose Filter > Noise > Reduce Noise. Choose all settings.
Now choose some parts of face and hair and apply to them a few times the same filter, but with the strength 4-5.
Good! Now our corrected image is ready for printing! =) Let's see how it was before and came after.
