Creating a fused bomb

Start by creating a circle using elliptical shape tool.
Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Create a rectangle using rectangular shape tool to create the lid of the bomb.
Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Create an ellipse using elliptical shape tool. Apply same layer style.

Draw bomb's wire using pen tool.
Create a new layer and select a 2 pixel hard brush. In path window click stroke path with brush.
In layer window enable add vector mask . This will create a mask for the layer.
Create a rectangular selection over wire area using rectangular marquee tool . Fill it with black color to mask the wire area.

Unlink the mask and the layer content thumbnail.

Create a star burst shape using custom shape tool and place at the end of the wire.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.
Create some sparks using line shape tool.
